WooCommerce Website Cost
WooCommerce Website Cost: Budget for a Working Store
My WooCommerce website projects start at $10,000. This is the starting price for the complete agreed website and store, not an add-on to the WordPress website package.
A store needs more than product pages. It needs accurate product data, a coherent catalog, useful buying information, an appropriate payment and shipping setup, and a tested route from checkout to the business handling the order.
The cost depends on how much of that work is standard, what information is ready, and which systems must connect. This guide helps you identify those decisions before comparing proposals.
Market Context
OuterBox’s published ecommerce guide uses $5,000–$25,000+ as a planning range for a small professional store and $25,000–$150,000+ for a custom growth store. These are the agency’s broader ecommerce estimates, not a WooCommerce-only survey. They were checked on September 6, 2026. OuterBox ecommerce pricing.
At the lower end, establish who supplies and enters the product information, what checkout behavior is included, and whether the quote covers supporting content. A store configured from clean data is a different project from one whose catalog still needs to be invented, photographed, and organized.
What the $10,000 Starting Package Assumes
The starting scope is one language, one market, standard WooCommerce behavior, and a small catalog supplied in a usable format. A representative example is up to 50 simple products with suitable images and accurate commercial information.
That example does not promise the same price for fifty products with complex variations, customer-specific rules, or incomplete data. The exact catalog and workflows are agreed in the proposal.
| Included within the agreed starting scope | Separate assessment when needed |
|---|---|
| Business research, website structure, and agreed supporting content | Extensive specialist research or an additional large content library |
| WordPress, YOOtheme Pro, and WooCommerce configuration | Custom plugins, unusual storefront functionality, or a separate bespoke design project |
| Standard product, category, cart, and checkout presentation | Complex filtering, subscriptions, bundles, or custom checkout rules |
| Product setup from usable supplied data | Substantial data cleanup, original product copy, photography, or video |
| Agreed standard payment and shipping configuration | Multiple markets, complex fulfillment, ERP, inventory, or CRM integrations |
| Infrastructure setup, measurement, testing, and handover | Ongoing provider bills, transaction fees, licenses, maintenance, and future development |
The completed page plan specifies which category explanations and buying guides are included. A store can share its WordPress system with a substantial SEO content section, but unlimited content production is not part of a starting price.
Product Data Is a Cost Driver You Can Control
Before estimating the catalog work, prepare a representative sample rather than describing everything as “about fifty products.” Include the title, identifier, category, description, price, images, and any relevant variation or fulfillment information.
Check the sample against the real buying process:
- Can the buyer tell exactly which product or variation they are selecting?
- Are the images available and suitable for the intended use?
- Do product identifiers and categories follow a consistent structure?
- Are price, availability, and delivery information supplied by a responsible person?
- Does the data need a one-time import, manual entry, or ongoing synchronization?
A clean import can reduce repetitive work. It does not remove the need to check mappings, product output, navigation, and purchases. If the sample exposes missing information, the proposal can account for it before the full catalog is loaded.
Price the Buying Process, Not Just the Catalog
Payments and Account Readiness
The website can connect an agreed payment method, but the business must have the necessary account and complete the provider’s requirements. Provider approval and transaction fees are separate from the development price.
Shipping and Fulfillment
A clear standard delivery rule is simpler to configure than rules that depend on combinations of dimensions, product restrictions, destinations, or warehouses. The website needs actual operating decisions from the business; it cannot resolve them by installing a plugin.
Integrations
An integration needs a defined flow: which system owns the data, what moves in each direction, when it moves, and what happens when something fails. A plugin license alone is not a complete implementation estimate.
Content That Supports Product Selection
Supporting explanations can help buyers understand suitability and compare options. The initial content plan should identify the material needed to make the first release useful. Further guides can be developed later through a separate content scope.
What Larger Budgets Cover
For suitable stores with standard workflows and a moderate amount of additional work, $10,000–$18,000 is a useful planning range for my proposals. It is not a claim about previous client spending or a maximum price.
A larger catalog does not automatically mean a much larger fee when the information and import process are straightforward. Conversely, a small catalog can require substantial development if purchasing rules are unusual.
Complex B2B pricing, subscriptions, extensive integrations, and multi-market operations require a separate estimate. The WooCommerce development guide explains the planning and implementation behind those choices.
Payments: An Example at $10,000
| Payment | Trigger | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| 40% | Agreed scope and terms; project starts | $4,000 |
| 30% | Structure, content plan, and representative page approved | $3,000 |
| 30% | Agreed store ready for review, checks complete, and corrections resolved; before public launch | $3,000 |
The final review should include the agreed catalog and order-flow checks. A published storefront alone is not the full acceptance criterion.
Additional functionality is priced and approved before implementation. The agreement records responsibilities for data, accounts, reviews, and pauses in the work.
Ongoing Store Costs
Separate three kinds of expenditure: operating services, technical maintenance, and further growth.
Provider bills can include the server, domain, email, extensions, storage, and payment processing. WooCommerce maintenance starts at $400 per month for an agreed standard store scope. Additional content and promotion are separate choices.
Do not add the $7,500 WordPress package to the $10,000 store package. Do not add setup fees for infrastructure already included in the store proposal. The Pricing hub shows how to combine only the services you actually choose.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the $10,000 price for WooCommerce installation?
No. It is the starting price for the agreed website, store, content preparation, technical setup, testing, and launch. Installing the software is one part of that work.
Can I launch without all the product photographs?
We need an agreed and truthful presentation for the products included in the launch. Missing images should be resolved in the scope rather than discovered during final testing. Original photography is not included in the starting package.
Does the package include writing every product description?
It includes the content explicitly identified in the proposal. The starting catalog example assumes usable supplied product information. Independently researching and writing a substantial set of product descriptions is additional work.
Do transaction fees go to you?
They are provider charges under the business’s payment arrangements, separate from my development fee. The applicable payment terms need to be reviewed with the chosen provider.
Can the store grow after launch?
Yes. New content, products, and functionality can be added through the established system. Changes that require new templates, workflows, or integrations receive a separate scope.
Is maintenance compulsory?
You need responsibility for the store’s upkeep, but you can manage that yourself or select another provider. My continuing work requires a separate agreement.
