Website Content & Copywriting Cost
Website Content Cost: What You Get Beyond the Draft
My website content packages start at $350 for an individual page and $2,500 for a topic cluster consisting of one main guide and five supporting pages.
The work is organized around what the reader needs to understand and what the business can accurately explain. It includes planning, drafting, editing, and preparing the agreed material for publication. A polished draft still needs a defined role in the site, factual review, and useful connections to related pages.
If content is already included in your complete website proposal, these standalone prices are not added to it. The Pricing overview explains that separation.
Compare the Deliverable Before Comparing the Price
A quote can cover several different products under the label “content.” Establish which one you are buying.
| What the supplier delivers | What may still need to happen |
|---|---|
| A draft based on your brief | Factual checks, editing, search-intent review, formatting, and publishing |
| An edited page | Placement in the content plan, internal links, CMS formatting, and implementation |
| A planned topic cluster | Approval of business facts, final implementation, and future updates |
| Ongoing content management | Confirm the actual research, publishing, review, and improvement allowance |
WebFX advertises copywriting services from $2,000 per month, with the scope depending on content needs rather than a fixed page allowance at that price. This is a useful example of managed content work, not a per-page rate comparable to every freelancer. Checked September 6, 2026. WebFX copywriting.
The researched offers do not establish a reliable national price for a page like yours. A medical explanation, a product comparison, and a short service page can involve very different work. Treat a broad market range without scope as a starting question, not a quotation.
An Individual Page — From $350
This package fits a defined topic with available facts and an established place in the website. Before drafting, we agree on the intended reader, the question the page answers, its relationship to existing content, and what source material is available.
The work includes:
- Reviewing the purpose and supplied factual material.
- Identifying the essential questions and boundaries.
- Preparing and editing the content.
- Proposing the heading structure, search title, description, and relevant internal links.
- Resolving the agreed review comments and preparing the material for publication.
Substantial original research, specialist interviews, additional language versions, and custom visual or interactive assets receive separate estimates. CMS implementation is identified in the proposal: new templates or development should not be assumed to be included in a writing price.
A Six-Page Content Cluster — From $2,500
A cluster connects a main guide with five supporting pages that explore distinct questions. The main guide still needs to answer its broad question; it should not become a thin list of links.
The cluster price includes shared research, the page map, the division of topics, writing and editing, business-fact review with you, and the linking plan. The supporting pages need their own useful conclusions, examples, checks, or decision criteria.
Multiplying the individual starting price by six does not describe the complete cluster work. An individual page may arrive with its topic and position already established. A new cluster also needs decisions about the coverage and relationships of all six pages.
| Cluster decision | Why it belongs in the scope |
|---|---|
| What the main guide must answer | Prevents the hub from becoming an empty navigation page |
| Which questions need separate pages | Avoids splitting every wording variation into another article |
| Where topics overlap | Helps combine or distinguish pages before drafting |
| What facts and evidence are available | Keeps claims grounded in the business |
| Which internal links help the reader | Makes the next useful explanation accessible |
| What belongs in later expansion | Keeps the first cluster finite and reviewable |
A particularly demanding subject may exceed the starting price. The agreed brief defines the research depth and required evidence rather than promising any six pages for $2,500.
What You Can Supply to Make the Work More Efficient
Start with the facts only the business can confirm: actual services, limitations, recurring customer questions, documents, images, and the conditions of delivery. Rough notes and a clear explanation are more useful than polished but inaccurate marketing copy.
Identify one person who can confirm factual statements and consolidate feedback. If several people review the material, resolve conflicting instructions before returning comments.
You do not need an Ahrefs subscription or a finished keyword list. Research and structure are part of the agreed work. However, research cannot prove that your business owns equipment, holds a qualification, or has achieved a particular result.
How AI Fits the Price
I use AI to help organize research, develop structure, and draft. The work still requires decisions about relevance, accuracy, completeness, overlap, and presentation.
An inexpensive generated draft is not automatically a finished customer resource. The paid result is the agreed, reviewed material and its role in the website. AI efficiency helps the process; it does not justify fabricated examples or remove your factual review.
Payment and Approval
An individual page is paid in advance after its scope is agreed. A content cluster uses 50% to start and 50% after the material is prepared and approved, before publication.
For a $2,500 cluster, that is $1,250 at each stage. The proposal identifies the format of delivery, whether CMS publishing is included, and the review allowance.
Changes that expand the topic, introduce new source material requiring substantial rework, or add pages are assessed before proceeding. Correcting an error in the agreed material is not a new content commission.
Questions About Content Pricing
Do you charge by the word?
The packages are scoped by the work and the required result. Length can help describe a brief, but it does not establish research depth, factual complexity, or usefulness. The goal is to answer the question properly without padding.
Can one page target several questions?
Yes, when those questions belong to the same task or decision. A separate supporting page is useful when a question deserves substantial depth. The content plan decides this before writing begins.
Can you work without photographs or finished documents?
We can start from your knowledge of the service. Missing evidence affects which claims and visuals can be used. Original photography, specialist research, or other production needs are identified separately.
Does content creation guarantee rankings?
No. The package delivers the agreed content work. Search visibility and customer inquiries depend on factors beyond the writing deliverable.
Are content updates included forever?
No. The initial scope includes the agreed review and corrections. New facts, changed services, additional topics, and later improvement form separate work or an ongoing arrangement.
Can the six-page package be added to an existing website?
Yes, subject to checking the existing structure and content. Some topics may need consolidation rather than six new URLs. We agree on the actual result before writing.
